Intermezzo' for chamber orchestra: Style and genealogy

Intermezzo, completed in 2003, is a nine-minute piece for chamber orchestra with winds and brass in pairs and no percussion. In this paper I give an analysis of Intermezzo and point out some aspects of my compositional style that figure in it, tracing them through previous works of mine and identifying some of their sources in other music.
