Marc Hannaford published "The Challenge of Comparing Improvisation across Domains," co-authored with Andrew Goldman, in American Music Review, Vol. XLV, No. 2, Spring 2016. Goldman and Hannaford formed the Comparing Domains of Improvisation Discussion Group in August 2015 at Columbia University, with the goal of providing a platform for improvisers and scholars of improvisation to explore differences and identify commonalities.
