Talk Title: "Theorizing Musical Time in al-Fārābī’s Great Book of Music"
Pianist and composer Ramin Amir Arjomand's work is born of a complex interplay of cross-cultural creative impulses. His long-form improvisations achieve extremes of sound intensity, pushing the limits of spontaneous thinking while seeking simultaneously, and equally intensely, a compositional unity characteristic of fully-notated music.

Dr. Ryan Dohoney (Historical Musicology, 2009) was featured on BBC Three's Sunday Feature to discuss Morton Feldman. The program talks about Feldman's connection with abstract expressionism and his blending of art and music.
