Children and adults alike are invited to see, hear and play LEMUR's musical robots and other exotic electronic musical instruments. JG Thirlwell featuring LEMUR Whitney Museum Friday, November 2 Composers' Showcase Whitney Museum of American Art 945 Madison Avenue at 75th Street Doors 6 pm, Show 7 pm JG Thirlwell presents two sets of music, first with his group Manorexia, then new and recent pieces for LEMUR robots and string quartet. Manorexia material will be drawn from the two Manorexia albums, Volvox Turbo (2001) and The Radiolarian Ooze (2002). JG will also present several pieces he has composed with the LEMUR robotic instruments and a live string quartet. In addition to "Prosopagnosia," a commissioned piece he premiered earlier this year at LEMUR's Robosonic Eclectic concert, Thirlwell will present a brand new piece and two new adaptations for robotic instruments and strings: the Steroid Maximus piece L'espion Qui A Pleure and a special rearrangement of the theme song for The Venture Brothers cartoon.
