[chiplotle-discuss] dxy-880 working???

It's very strange that the plotter won't talk back. Does anyone have
dxy-880 manual? It should list the valid commands. Does an error light
come on when you try to send it the "OI" command?

You could simply edit Chiplotle to ignore all query sending instructions
(and make those functions return valid made up data). The problem with
that is that Chiplotle will then not be able to handle buffer management
for you. If you send too much data at once the plotter will barf and
drop commands resulting in the behavior described in the "Temperamental
Plotter" thread. Maybe the dxy-880 takes care of this with hardware
handshaking, I don't know. But I'm really surprised that it doesn't
respond to at least the "OI" and the buffer size commands.

best,
douglas
