Dear friends,
The online submissions system for the 2006 SPARK FESTIVAL of
Electronic Music and Art is now available. Please see
www.spark.cla.umn.edu for further information, the call for works,
and other information.
The deadline for submissions is September 30 (online and postmark).
Now in its fourth year, the Spark Festival (Minneapolis, USA)
showcases the newest groundbreaking works of digital music and art.
Last year’s festival included innovative works by over one hundred
international composers and artists, including featured guest artists
Philippe Manoury and DJ Spooky. Leading scholars and technology
specialists also presented papers relating to new technology and
creativity. Audiences for the concerts, installations, video
screenings, and lectures last year totaled approximately 2,000
people. Guests for 2006 include violinist Maja Cerar and saxophonist
Brian Sacawa, as well as featured artists who will be announced in
September. For further information please see www.spark.cla.umn.edu .
Best wishes,
Doug Geers
