We are delighted to announce our sixth meeting as the guests of the Smiths Row Gallery, Bury St Edmunds on Thursday 30th June. Entry is free. All the details are here: http://dorkbot.org/dorkbotanglia/
It'll be our first year anniversary too!
John Bowers of the Curiosity Collective introduces:
* Rosie Grieve is the curator at Smiths Row, whose current exhibition is Into the Wild.
* Fraser Reich designs and builds mass spectrometers for a living. Today the equipment that once filled a room can fit in a suitcase. He will give a live demonstration sampling fruit and other chemicals, to reveal the molecular structure of various compounds.
* Lee Patterson is a sound artist who makes underwater recordings of plant and insect life, including pond weed! Lee is currently showing new material as part of Into the Wild.
* Anton Woodward designs and manufactures stage automation equipment for theatre and film. His work includes systems for the Phantom of the Opera, the National Theatre and Harry Potter.
Plus, "OpenDorks" (short ad-hoc slots for anyone to talk about their work)
Let's get some lift-sharing going - if you can offer a lift please send back to the discussion list: A discussion list for dorkbotanglia-blabber at dorkbot.org (you'll need to be a subscriber - go here to do that - http://dorkbot.org/mailman/listinfo/dorkbotanglia-blabber)
Hope you can make it.
