Darren Nelsen is an electroacoustic composer and guitarist located in
Roswell, GA. His work has been commissioned by the Iolani School in
Hawaii and performed by the New York Miniaturist Ensemble. Darren
founded the Atlanta Composers Blog in 2006 and curated two seasons of
the Atlanta Composer Group's Electronic Music Concert Series.

"'12x60' is an electroacoustic project whereby I wrote and published a
60-second piece of music each week for twelve weeks. All pieces were
done in Csound, each utilizing a different technique or tool that I
wanted to learn. I used spectral fusion, sample manipulation, effects
processing, and various kinds of synthesis including additive,
subtractive, granular, and amplitude and ring modulation. Forcing
myself to be creative within tight constraints was very productive,
and I came away with a much greater understanding of Csound and
synthesis in general. In the open spirit of Csound, I look forward to
sharing my code and insights."

The Atlanta chapter of Dorkbot, an international forum dedicated to
art, technology, and "people doing strange things with electricity,"
is free and open to the public. It is hosted by the Music Department
in the College of Architecture at Georgia Tech.
