I'd like to attend and perhaps show one or two of my Arduino projects, but I haven't received any confirmation that my message was received. For what it's worth, I sent the following: Joey? I?d like to attend the ?Arduino night? on the 12th, if possible. If you like, I have a couple of projects I could talk about. One is a reflex testing box I built for my son?s science fair project. It measures, in milliseconds, the time it takes to press a button in response to a flash from an LED. The second project is not quite finished, but is more interesting. It?s a simple GPS-enabled box which latches from the inside. The latch cannot be opened until the owner of the box ? in this case an unsuspecting friend of mine who is getting married in France ? figures out that he must physically move it so a specific location on the globe. This particular box only opens when it is moved to the Ile de Br?hat off the coast of France, but the LCD screen on the box only gives very obscure clues to help discover this. For what it?s worth, I am the author of the popular Arduino libraries NewSoftSerial and TinyGPS (as well as several unpopular ones ?). http://arduiniana.org Best regards, Mikal Hart Austin -----Original Message----- From: dorkbotaustin-blabber-bounces at dorkbot.org [mailto:dorkbotaustin-blabber-bounces at dorkbot.org] On Behalf Of Nick Pietraniec Sent: Friday, July 31, 2009 11:02 AM To: dorkbotaustin-announce at dorkbot.org Cc: dorkbotaustin-blabber at dorkbot.org Subject: [dorkbotaustin-blabber] Arduino Night at the ACTLab, August 12th 7-10pm Hi everyone, ACTLab is hosting an arduino night next month. We will start with a brief introduction to the arduino, as well as give some demos. We are encouraging people to bring their arduinos and projects, if you do plan on bringing a project, please let us know so we can put you in our next email/flyer update. After the introduction and some demo's we will have a science fair style walk around so everyone can see what each other are up to. If you or anyone you know is interested in providing refreshments please let us know, we would deeply appreciate it.
