I'm looking for a volunteer in DC to aid in a transcontinental
Touch-over-IP demo for a Dorkbot SoCal meeting.
This is the same kind of technology I showed at Dorkbot DC last
September, but we're going a bit farther this time.
The date for the event will be next Saturday, April 5, at 4PM ET (1PM
PT). You would also need to be willing to spend a few minutes either
Thursday or Friday night around 9PM-10PM ET for a test.
I'm seeking someone with:
1) Some kind of high-speed Internet (DSL/cable/etc)
2) I will FedEx you the "finger" for your side
3) The "finger" connects via wired Ethernet to your router. It is
pretty much "plug and play" if you have a standard router config.
4) You need a phone so we can call you and talk to you
5) Preferably you also have a PC or Mac with a webcam so we can see
you using free videoconferencing (sightspeed.com, or justin.tv, etc.)
6) Then you can help people in Los Angeles touch you over 2,300 miles
of Internet connectivity!
Thanks!
