This is a really fun project from dorkbot in Scotland. They've largely
coordinated it on their blabber list. It's a lot of fun to lurk on all
of the blabber lists and watch what everyone is cooking up!

Greetings, ye Mighty.
We of the dorkbotalba chapter have been quietly labouring in the dank
rafters of The Forest Café, Edinburgh - once the Edinburgh
Congregational Church, now an anarchic hippie heaven.
We discovered an abandoned 16-foot, 19th century pipe organ, and built a
MIDI-controlled robotic player for it, from a box of solenoids and
copious strips of gaffer tape. Now, the church mice dance again - to Van
Halen's "Jump!"
We call it WaldFlöte, or "Forest Flute", after one of the organ stops.
More details and videos here:

It does need more work - only one keyboard so far - but now it's running
we're looking for further avenues to pursue. What *is* a MIDI
controlled pipe organ good for, and what good tunes can we give it?
Suggestions invited...
