* Machinery's Handbook - the granddaddy of shop reference books (2700
pages!)
* Circuit Designer's Companion - moving from circuits that generally
work on the workbench, to designs that reliably work in the field (and
in high quantities)
* Carroll Smith's Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook - written
by an auto racer, an emphasis on practicality makes this a good book for
the hobbyist, too.
