<P>I got a real kick out of seeing the sign: "East Coast Maker Fair!"</P>

<P>You know, Robot Fest is basically a scaled down "Maker Fair" and it is only a 30 minutes drive from DC. I believe that there was only 2 or 3 people from MakeDC and Dorkbots-DC combined that attended last year! MakeDC sponsored a workshop at RobotFest last year but I needed to recruit volunteers from our HAM radio club and the HEM museum to help run the workshop. I just don't see the level of interest in the MD - DC area to support a MakerFair event that needs to draw 10,000 to 20,000 people to be financially sound.</P>

<P>RobotFest is scheduled for the last Saturday in April 2009</P>
