I thought there was talk of a maker faire in Boston. what ever happened to that? If I knew there was a protest with signs I would not have missed the meeting! did the "secret dork police" have to protect Gareth?<br>

<p>You know, Robot Fest is basically a scaled down "Maker Fair" and it is only a 30 minutes drive from DC. I believe that there was only 2 or 3 people from MakeDC and Dorkbots-DC combined that attended last year! MakeDC sponsored a workshop at RobotFest last year but I needed to recruit volunteers from our HAM radio club and the HEM museum to help run the workshop. I just don't see the level of interest in the MD - DC area to support a MakerFair event that needs to draw 10,000 to 20,000 people to be financially sound.</p>
