I have a Chumby! <br><br>I think they're really neat, but they do have some disadvantages. I started building some applications for it and it seems that at the time of my developing they only allowed Flash Lite (I think 2.1?) as the programming language - to me this was really limited, I had to find very unique ways to get things done (like running cron jobs on a server to pull down information from some XML files sitting on the web elsewhere) - there are a lot of issues with permissions with what you can/can't access when you upload your file to Chumby to run.<br>
<br>On a non-developer side:<br><br>I think it's amazing! It's so much fun to play with and it's like an alarm clock/radio/internet device/super awesome cool gadget all-in-one. I haven't picked it up in a couple weeks because of moving but it used to sit by my side (best place I found is on your computer desk) and play Chumball and my girlfriend would always beat the Daily Sudoku. There are a TON of freely available written widgets for the device from the community and the wiki is great for any question you would want to know.<br>
<br>I'm a fan of it, I think the price tag is a TAD high (@200) but you'll have a TON of fun, and if you're a hacker/developer you should be able to find a lot of good uses for this in future projects. I'm still waiting to see if anyone does a battery modification, that would be nice. (Hooking up a gel-cell or something similar and maybe running a "stumbler" type application and throw it in a company's office for a work day to see what it picks up, hehe.)<br>
