This could be a nice chance to share your work with the nice folks at
Eyebeam and get some feedback on a sustainability-oriented project.
+++
To close the FEEDBACK preview, the Open Source Sustainability Critique
on Saturday January 26, from 4–6PM invites you to bring your own
projects up for review with Eyebeam alumni artists. 10 projects will be
selected for review. Please email Liz Slagus, Director of Education and
Public Programming: liz at eyebeam.org <email:liz at eyebeam.org>
Break-down of Saturday, January 26 (4-6pm):
We have done a call to get artists from all over working with issues of
sustainability to sign up and come in for a crit of their work by the
featured artists in Feedback. We'll take up to 10 projects, with some
alternates.
This will be the closing event for the January Commons Space
installation, and an opportunity for us to gather the public, position
ourselves as a resource, and promote our March exhibtion.
Event on Sat., Jan 26 @ 4pm
12pm:
Set-up of installations by participating artists from the community.
Work will be installed in an informal way around the Prototyping space @
Eyebeam.
4pm:
Presentation by Feedback artists: 15 min by 3 artists invited to
participate in the March/April Feedback exhibition. Artists will provide
insights into their process of developing sustainable-focused projects:
including, the issues and process with making sustainable projects (ie
materials and/or sustainability as a topic or theme for their work). We
are thinking about this as an opportuntity to talk about some of the
hard work when working in this realm. We are positioning this as a
resource and hopefully inspiration for other arists. It's meant to be a
really honest look @ this kind of work: the good, the bad and the
ugly...sharing ideas, difficulties and solutions with others.
5pm:
Drinks for the audience members, while presenters go around to do
'desktop crits' with the artists who have sign-up to set up and demo
(projects will be installed before the event for the public and artist
presenters to walk around and preivew/review before the program in a
mini-installation).
5:45pm:
3 random artists will be selected to present their projects to the
public, including the results of their feedback session with the
presenting artists.
