Hello
I am trying to figure out how to make this PIR sensor work that I just
bought with another component I need to use.
data sheet:
http://www.electronics123.net/amazon/datasheet/kc7786.pdf
Basically, I light electroluminescent panels with these special high
frequency transformers, they run on 12vdc. I have been running them
using this 12vdc wall transformer, it is regulated a 1 amp with no
problem. However when I connect the PIR sensor the output voltage
becomes 12vdc at .2 amps and this is too low to drive the transformer
and therefore won't turn the light on.
So, I need the slightest boost. It has been suggested to me to use a
relay. This is where my confusion begins. I have been reading about
them, I understand the premise, but I only need a slight bump up of
the amperage not voltage.
I have also been advised that due to the sensitivity of this PIR
circuit I'll need to protect it from the electro magnetic pulse
discharged from the relay when switching off.
Can anyone help me here?
Thank You!
Alex
