Hi good people of dorkbot. Performance artist My Robot Friend is
looking for a tech person with a background in the following:

1) set/prop design for stage or screen
2) preferably has experience in lighting design
3) preferably has experience in electrical engineering
4) preferably has some experience in physical computing programming
(arudino board, etc)
5) comfortable and experienced with soldering and electrical circuit
work
6) possibly has experience with MIDI and DMX
7) bonus if the person has experience and talent with video art

we need someone to help with the development of light-up stage props
for a client's performance art show. To give examples, the show
currently has the following: a light up steering wheel with mounted
micro wireless video camera (http://www.virb.com/myrobotfriend/videos/9959
), light up guitar with midi controlled light up frets (seen at the
beginning of this video:http://www.virb.com/myrobotfriend/videos/
16842), light-up expanding and contracting ball with wireless video
camera (http://www.virb.com/myrobotfriend/videos/9972).

The person may or may not be involved in the creative conceptual part
or coming up with ideas for stage props depending on his/her level of
interest. The person should definitely be able to handle the technical
aspects of executing ideas for the show and determining the
feasibility and cost of projects. The person should be a creative
thinker and an expert at being able to execute ideas in a way that the
props are extremely durable and as light weight as possible. In
addition, the person will be responsible for creating backups of
existing stage props. Superior problem-solving skills and logical
thinking are a must.

Compensation commensurate with experience.

Feel free to forward this on to someone off list that might be
interested and suitable for the gig.

Best regards,

Eddie Bezalel
