Dear Zoe (and whoever else is interested),<br><br>For hackable projects rather than custom-made circuits, I used a great little cheap electronic sound circuit for my light-sensitive "Whisper Opera" hand-held sound sculptures: <a href="http://membrana.us/whisperopera.html">http://membrana.us/whisperopera.html</a>. <br>
<br>The module is very "cannable." You can get them here: <a href="http://www.klockit.com/products/sku-30200.html">http://www.klockit.com/products/sku-30200.html</a> (Hint: buying new batteries for the modules is more expensive than the module itself! Unless you buy them in bulk from some cheapo place.)<br>
<br>Just open up the casing, and where the "play" button switch is located, simply hack your sensor onto it. When the circuit is closed, the sound plays. I put a photo sensor on the switch, so that light turned the sound on and off. You could hack an accelerometer or something onto it. Although a speaker is included, you could attach a larger one if you wanted. There is another button that allows you to record your 10-sec sound sample.<br>
