If you are like me and pay attention to art and robotics you have
probably been hearing a lot about the Arduino micro-controller
platform and all of the cool things that people are doing with it. In
some circles this platform has almost developed a cult like following.

With the Arduino Cult Induction workshops, DorkbotPDX invites you to
drink the cool-aid.

This workshop will introduce DorkbotPDX's locally designed and
produced "Dorkboard", which evolved out of experience building
projects around the Arduino platform.

DorkbotPDX has put together a cost effective Arduino kit around the
Dorkboard and an equally inexpensive programmer. On Sunday, July 27th
from 1 to 6 PM at PNCA (1240 NW Johnson -- Room 205 ) we will help
you put yours together.

The cost of the workshop is $25 and is limited to the space the
prebuilt kits we will have on hand (30) so if you want to make sure
that you get a spot you can prepay for your kit (paypal this address)
or email me to RSVP.

You will need to bring a laptop, a usb cable (standard b type ), a
soldering iron (10-20 watt pencil type) and a pair of dikes (wire
cutters). We will spend the first few hours putting the kit together
and then after taking a short break we will load the software on your
computers and use it to program your micro-controller. Please be
prompt as there is lots of ground to cover.

There is more information at http://dorkbotpdx.org/Workshops/ACI3

See you there.

Don (aka feurig).
