What is the primary use? Are you the type of Mac user that likes to pull up
a terminal window and poke at things or do you just want the standard
application and are happy? Do you need a new laptop? Do you need to see it
before you buy it or would you order it? There are a lot of deals to be had
on used Mac laptops on Craigslist. The new Linux netbook/sublaptop market
has some great deals. The MSI Wind is an incredible deal for a Linux 'top
but you'd have to order it. An ASUS Eee PC or Acer Aspire One might be able
to be had locally. If you go for an Eee pick up a newer Intel Atom based one
as in the next 6 months or so you'll have some more flexibility as Intel's
moblin project finishes things up and the Ubuntu Netbook Remix distrobution
of Linux becomes more than a "remix" for testing.
