Well, I have two modes for myself - work mode and etc mode. My previous
laptop (an iBook G3 that went horribly awry after the backlight died) was
used for web dev projects, so I used Coda and terminal windows. In fact,
Coda works really well on a G3 because I constantly harassed Tim at Panic
Inc about the bugs and he ironed them out for me :) So while most of the
time I'm poking at things in the terminal, I also like to be lazy
occasionally and watch Doctor Who. The only Mac program I really need is
Photoshop, and I guess I could use Gimp... :/
A side note - I'm really used to the Mac's IME, Kotoeri, so while I was
contemplating having the laptop run Debian (which I've used before),
Gentoo, or FreeBSD, I would need to figure out how you use their IME.

I wonder what else my Intel "discount" is good for...

Actually, if any of you don't mind parting with your laptop for an hour or
so at the next Dorkbot meeting, that would help. I need to update my site
and the library computers don't run SSH. (Job-hunting time.)
