The thing you're wanting to do -- hang out with friends, some
of whom are under 21, while having a beer -- is utterly reasonable
and would be great and wonderful and i am all for it.
but the State of Oregon has an entire department dedicated
to making sure it never happens.  The OLCC's mission
  is to "protect" minors from exposure to drinkers,
and the attendant "corruption", you know.

some restaurants allow people to drink with minors at the
tables, a relatively recent OLCC rule relaxation.  But
there are many restaurants that would prefer you go to
the bar if you're not there to buy food.  Ask your local
restaurant.

The moral is: down with the OLCC!

... and i'm wondering what to do with it.  i have a great
idea for a lamp using 40 of them, but i've just got the
one right now ... it's very pretty, but i'd love to give
it some kind of meaning.
