Lots of places allow minors until 10pm.  McMenamins serves beer, wine, 
mixed drinks and hard liquor straight up, for example, and minors are 
welcome everywhere except at the bar.  They will serve to a mixed crowd, 
but of course they card anyone who looks young and orders a drink.

I'm pretty sure they're following the OLCC rules.  They may have a lot 
of silly, arbitrary rules, but minors can be in groups with adults 
drinking, at least until 10pm, which is about as late as dorkbot ever goes.

For another data point, the livejournal "damnportlanders" group has a 
mixed crowd, mostly over 21, but a good number under, and they had no 
problem finding another venue which allows minors til 10pm.  I believe 
they now meet at the East Bank Saloon in SE.

Then again, they weren't also looking for quiet, bright lighting, 
soldering iron friendly space!
