I have a 28 pin ZIF socket, which I can bring on Monday.

The pins are 0.6 inch spacing, so it won't plug directly into a 0.3 inch 
wide space designed for the atmega168 chip.  But the slots on the top 
are able to take a 0.3 inch wide chip.

If anyone has a 0.6 to 0.3 adaptor, or wants to hook up the wires, the 
ZIF socket could make programming the bootloader into those 100 chips a 
whole lot easier!
