[dorkbotpdx-blabber] Intro and Q

Hey all. I have followed the posts for dorkBotPDX for a while and
would come to the meetings if I didn't have night classes on Mondays.
I hope to attend them in the future and really love that there is a
group like this here in town.

Anyway, my question is about creating a remote control. Can anyone
point me in the direction of how I would be able to send custom codes
out? I found a site that has hex codes for many devices:

but I want to create my own unit rather than buying one of the ones
they sell. Something like the TV-B-Gone zapper is what I am trying to
make, but obviously with my own codes.

Any help would be terrific, and thanks for the help, inspiration, and support.
