Hey all,

I'm really new to the group but love to see this kind of activity going on
in the Portland area. I was at the Lucky Lab this past Monday with my son
and thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and seeing all the cool projects. I
hope to make it down there again the next Monday.

I've got three questions that I was hoping one of you techno-gurus would be
able to help me with.

1) Anyone in the group have any dealings with the Roomba vacuum robots? My
charging circuit is um. not charging(???) I've tried and cannot find any
further technical docs on the unit. The "developer's" version has
schematics for the controller board but says nothing about the 10 additional
wires running from the power adapter board to the main controller board. I
am assuming that they don't exist on the developer's version and only exist
on my "much cheaper, yet totally hackable, refurbished, purchased from
amazon.com" version.

2) I really would love to find a cheap PC based oscilloscope and/or 16 - 24
bit logic analyzer. Anyone in the group have experience with the parallax
version? http://www.hobbyengineering.com/H1976.html I'm looking for
something that I can dump data in binary / ascii / whatever and manipulate
it on the PC.

3) I really was fascinated by the demo this past Monday using PureData. I'd
never heard of it before and it sounded fascinating. I installed it and
played around for a good 2 hours and I felt like an idiot. Is there a good
guide on how to use it? I need the "PureData for Idiots" guide. I made it
through the on-line instruction manual and following the short tutorials in
the manual, couldn't even get it to add two numbers. Things like this make
me wonder if senility isn't sneaking up a little early.

Thanks,

Greg
