I used to live a block from Allen. There is a road between
Farmington/Beaverton-Hillsdale that is low traffic, and gets you to
the other side of the freeway. So if you bike Lombard just far enough
to get you into the neighborhood south of the
Farmington/Beaverton-Hillsdale intersection you get onto friendly
streets. Another option is going through the Fred Meyer parking lot,
and getting to the same road under the freeway via the park just south
of Fred Meyer. I was thinking of going, but have no money for train
fare.
