[dorkbotpdx-blabber] Any suggestions for LED Drivers?

I'm trying to drive 8 1-watt luxeon type LEDs from a battery pack, and I
need them to be dimmable, but not using pwm. It's for a lighting rig for a
camera and I'm afraid the pwm would screw up the metering with high shutter
speeds.
Maxim makes a current-limiting dimmer driver, and I'm wondering if anyone
has any experience using these with 1 watt or higher LEDs.
