The Teensy is always provided fully built and tested (you can't get it 
as a kit or bare board), because those tiny parts and the no-lead QFN 
chips are pretty much impossible to hand solder without a lot of very 
special tools.

Of course, you CAN solder to the 24 pads on the sides!
