I'm working on a conference called Open Source Bridge (http://
opensourcebridge.org) that will be taking place here in Portland in
June. We're currently recruiting people to help with the content
selection process, and I thought the Hacks track might be of
particular interest to dorkbotters:

Do you tinker with your hardware, warranty restrictions or not? Where
are you pushing the boundaries of out-of-the-box technology? Has your
electronics hobby taken over your life? Show us the interesting,
innovative things you're working on, outside of the pre-packaged
options.
Session ideas:
     *  Creating an arduino clone
     *  Open source rocketry
     *  Circuit bending

We'll be sending out a formal call for proposals very soon, but
helping review and select talks is a great way to contribute to the
conference as well. You can find more info and discussion on the
content committee mailing list (http://groups.google.com/group/
osbridgepdx-content) and we're having our next meeting on Feb. 5th:
