They are still fairly uncommon. Only a small handful of devices that I 
have heard of have started using them -- primarily mobile phones as you 
indicated, but most still use mini-USB.

I personally don't have any and would probably try to avoid buying 
devices that use them just yet *unless* it was something on the order of 
a new phone purchase where the benefits and platform really outweighed 
the annoyance of having to start buying new cables and keeping them 
littered about for ready access.

I would suggest holding off for a year or so and seeing how the market 
shakes out between now and then -- enough of us are holding on to our 
aged phones that for a product to jump on the bandwagon this soon could 
just make it more inaccessible and less appealing.

That's my $0.02 anyway...
