what do you all think of this idea: suppose we had a show where
the goal was for each dorkbotter to collaborate with one or more other
people. so if you see yourself as more of a technologist, then your
goal would be to find someone more on the arts-end of things
who can bring the meaning/beauty/postmodernism/whatever that
makes it "art" in your collaborative eyes. or, if you see yourself
as having too much artsiness and not enough soldering skill,
you can pair up with someone who fills that gap. either way,
we try to put together a show does a good job of harnessing
raw dork power to accomplish something moving or meaningful
or pretty ... or whatever you like in art, i guess.
i would not lay down any rules about who can collaborate
with whom. but this could be a way for Dorkbot in general to kind
of mingle with other local artists who are already plugged into
what's going on in Portland. i like the social potential of it.
