[dorkbotpdx-blabber] USB to rs485 adapter?

I'm trying to install Haunted Garden in Ben Foote's ON Gallery, and am having
some troobles with my light controller. I can't get my mac to recognize my
uLinks USB to RS485 serial adapter. I don't know if it's a software problem or
a hardware problem. It's possible the unit may have gotten damaged in moving up
here. 

Does anyone know a local place to buy such a beast? (There's lots of places online, 
but I don't know if it'll get here in time for opening next thursday).
  Alternately, does anyone have an adapter I can borrow & try for a bit to 
test if the problem is in my computer or the adapter?
