I'm involved with the annual bike festival known as pedalpalooza.  For
some rides so many people show up that it is difficult to count.  Even
a good approximation is much better than wild guesses.

A while ago I tried to find parts for connecting to air hoses to count
bicycles by dividing the number of pressure spikes by two.  There are
so many parts though that I had trouble figuring out what makes sense,
and I can't estimate price until I know what pressure sensor to use.
Would like it to report numbers real time so that a screen can count
up as bikes go through the gate(s).  I imagine other big rides would
be interested in renting the equipment if it is made durable.
