*November 1st** 2006 DORKBOT: The View From Up There*

*IMPORTANT: please note that we're not using our usual venue - details
below: IMPORTANT*

Greetings, Dorks! On WEDNESDAY, November 1st at 7:30 PM at the Capitol Hill
Arts Center, we will have three presentations about taking photos and video
from where you are not. *Bre Pettis* will share his kite aerial photography
rigs and give us hints on how to avoid knocking someone's head off with a
pound and a half of payload attached to a long string. *Peter Brown* will
show us the Assimilator Project; a way to enable people to have a
first-person perspective of being 500 feet in the air using simple off the
shelf wireless video equipment, LCD video goggles, lots of string and a
large helium balloon. *Brad Larsen* and *Ryan Weh* will tell us about their
radio-controlled blimp-mounted camera, and then demonstrate it in action.

Doors will be open at 7:00 if you want to show up early, have a drink at
CHAC's bar, and chat with your fellow dorks.
Presenter and venue details below; http://dorkbot.org/dorkbotsea has full
information about the talks. Please send any questions or comments to
Eldan ( eldang at gmail.com ) who's organizing this Dorkbot, or
shellyhivemind at gmail.com, your Dork Overlord.
