Ooh - this could certainly be a useful component of a community site,
especially when coupled with Friendster/Tribe-like features for
connecting potential collaborators.

Scott's onto something, here's a related thought.

A wiki is an open-contribution website concept that could be used
for posting individual stats and interests as well as sharing
info and actually doing collaborative projects. Should we set up
a dorkbot wiki? Here's one possible software kit:
