I think this is an excellent idea. I still fondly remember Chuck Harrison's
table-o-textbooks at a meeting a few years ago, and having a monthly swap
would be great. I like your proposed rules, too. Being hands-on types, I
think the idea of having some misc boxes of "interesting stuff" to look
through is better than just online descriptions, especially for those weirdo
items that might resist description.
