I bought a Weller WESD51 from Fry's about 6 months ago.
Love everything about it. I had no idea how much better a good
soldering iron was over a cheap one. If I had known I would've gotten
one a long time ago.
Goes from room temperature to 600F in about 30 seconds. I was pretty
surprised by this.
It's really nice -knowing- your iron is ready to solder with.
That said - since the thing heats up so quick - the display really isn't
that critical. If you were looking to save $50 - you can get a similar
station from weller without the display:

It is kind of cool though to see the temperature go down when heating up
larger objects (so you can see your making a good thermal connection).
