I can’t confirm that the model number is the same, but it looks to be the same station @ 1/2 cost. That was one of the ones I was considering,.. but the last one I ordered (different station/brand) from MPJA died in 3 weeks of use and they would not take it back since it was a bit past there 1 month return policy,.. (it sat for a week or two unused at first) So I was a little put/off which is probably silly as iv had other great interactions with them..

Rich, thanks for the input on that particular one,.. I like the idea of being able to "see" thermal transfer,.. Even though I have no idea how ill use that at the moment, but I also solder directly to solar cells and other delicate things, so I like the idea of knowing the temp,.. I think ill be taking a drive tonight, did they have allot of options at Frys, there web site has multiple choices, but the store does not always carry everything on there site does,.. I tried calling but got transferred around in circles.
