Message-ID: <74415e060803131339r5b3243bei546abc58ad6d896a@mail.gmail.com> Hi all - Dorkbot Austin had some fantastic dorkbot shirts printed up for SXSW but overestimated demand. They had 1300+ attendees at their event and had planned on the shirts offsetting the cost, but it's turned out to have put them in a hole. I'm going to place a bulk order to help them out get some nifty shirts to boot - if you'd like one or more let me know by end of day Saturday. I'll front the money and bring the shirts to our next event. Cost is $15 each, which includes shipping. The shirts are from American Apparel. Design 1 is on navy and says "people doing strange things with electricity" under "Dorkbot" http://www.lowres.net/dorkbotshirt1.jpg http://www.lowres.net/shirt1.jpeg Design 2 is on silver (men) or green (women) http://www.lowres.net/dorkbotshirt2.jpg Design 3 is on slate http://www.lowres.net/dorkbotshirt3.jpg ---------------------------------------- To Order: Email me directly: eric.mcneill+dorkbotshirt@gmail.com Please specify: 1) Design 1, 2 or 3 2) Men's or Women's 3) Size: S, M, L, and XL 4) Quantity As of now they still have all sizes and styles available. More presentations, workshops, discussions, movies, social hours? 2) What particular topics would you like to see covered in the next year of Dorkbot presentations? Who would like to hear speak? 3) What tools for community, collaboration, and awareness would you like to see made available to Dorkbot folks, if at all? 4) What collobaration spaces/worshops do you already use, and what do you think you need, but don't have access to? 5) How would you like to participate in the next year? 6) What is "dorkbot" and "dorkbot art" anyways? We will have a one hour conservation covering these and other dorkbot topics from 8-9. If you have a short announcement or something for "open dork" please let me know at shellyhivemind@gmail.com. As ever, special thanks to 911 Media Arts Center for providing such a great venue and friendly support for our monthly Dorkbot meetings. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Does any one know where the owner of "The House of Science" went? Or maybe someone who worked there with the same knowledge of LED's? (he also had fun with round magnets in an aluminum tube, who said aluminum is not magnetic) I have now built a set of taillights in clear lenses that burn red for my street rod. I really like the look, have had many positive comments. One is "Can you build me a pair?" and right now I have to say "no" as I do not have the part numbers or source to order the clear LED's that burn red. I have two sizes, one is a large LED and I would like to find a source for more, as well as the smaller LED's. I have the resistors, and since they are color coded, it is fairly easy to get them. But what of the LED's? Can I get the same that burn amber or yellow?? Someone, please, Help... I need parts to finish my street rod. Possibly start my nephew in a small business of his own. I am not an electronics geek, I am way over my head in this, but it sure is fun..... also, I am 63 years young, and still learning.
