I like this board. Its a dedicated board that plays back mp3s from a SD
card. You can control it via a serial link, but more simply it provides 8
parallel TTL inputs
that directly trigger playback of 8 sound files.

If you want to do some data logging from a pic or arduino and need to write
the results on an SD card that can be read from a pc.
