Vetco has a modest selection of stuff that's broader than it looks at first.
(Always ask the counter guys if you can't find something.)

Alphatronics is good for the more hardcore types.

Fry's is hit-or-miss, as usual.

    I don't think there are any really good retail options in Seattle.

    For simple stuff you can still get things from many Radio Shacks. I'm
pretty sure the one on the Ave, for example, has a small selection of
passives and common ICs.

    Metrix on Broadway sells an eclectic assortment of components and
things, and I believe they also allow people to piggyback on a weekly
Mouser/DigiKey order (I could be misremembering).
