The volunteer would 1) google up all the email addresses for college student newspapers in the LA area and 2) once a month email them with a brief press release we generate for the next meeting. Email me if you are interested. The university student that was helping me with this project has graduated, got married, and is taking graduate classes in the evenings -- he hasn't worked on the project for a year. ? So here is your opportunity!??? ? If you want to contribute to this project, post a message!?? Will need someone who has MIDI software on a laptop (Cakewalk or equivalent). Also general software, electronics, or mechanical skills would be appreciated.? ? The parts to connect the rotary solenoids to move the drumsticks have been designed and prototypes of these are built. An interface board has been tested and seems to make one drumstick move when a MIDI file is played. That's as far as we got. ? Like to complete this interesting project -- but it needs other people to make it happen! ? Let me know. ? Jim Ubersetzig ? P.S. I left the drum set at the Machine Project. --- On Fri, 9/19/08, Thomas Edwards wrote: From: Thomas Edwards Subject: [dorkbotsocal-blabber] Globe and Mail article on Dorkbot To: "dorkbotsocal-blabber" Date: Friday, September 19, 2008, 7:52 AM http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20080919.wldorkbot19/BNStory/lifeMain/home "See my Franken-toaster?
