Bonus points if anyone is willing to give my girlfriend and I lessons in exchange for some web design work. :) many thanks, jason --------------------------- Jason Yosinski http://yosinski.com From mafromla at earthlink.net Mon Jun 1 21:31:09 2009 From: mafromla at earthlink.net (M.A. Greenstein) Date: Mon Jun 1 21:31:24 2009 Subject: [dorkbotsocal-blabber] Glass blowing lesson recommendations In-Reply-To: <1c8a3ed30906011753q6781dbe0q44a2125e5bf95069@mail.gmail.com> References: <1c8a3ed30906011753q6781dbe0q44a2125e5bf95069@mail.gmail.com> Message-ID: Jason UCLA use to have a glass blowing lab in the art studio building on the main campus. Not sure if it's still funded or even on the curriculum. You could write to the Chihuyli studio for Pasadena recommendations. Good luck! If you just want to cast something out of Bronze, we have a full foundry down here in Fullerton. I am set up for sand casting up to 24lbs of brass or bronze. This equates to a bit over 1 liter of material (#8 crucible). At midnight (Friday night/Sat morning) all the old analog television broadcasts will stop, to be replaced by digital signals. That means old TVs without converter boxes won?t work anymore. In memoriam of the TV we all have known and loved/hated, we?ll be gathering a pyramid of old TVs together for a countdown as they go to static, all at once.
