Hi Everybody,
Here is the original message from Julie of UrbanXchange about the fashion
show she's doing in November. She came to the June meeting and talked about
possibilities, she's interested in things like Jacob's ladders, maybe dry
ice steam, and other props & machines. She's open to proposals so if you
have ideas, write to her! I believe she's listening in on the blabber list,
so if you'd rather discuss possibilities here, do that.
Here's hoping some of you have some ideas/devices/evil genius to offer her!
Thanks,
Laura

Hi! I'm julie bennett from urbanXchange (a clothing store in downtown
tacoma) I am planning a fashion showcase in Nov. for artist at work month
and our theme is "Fashionopolis" based on the movie Metropolis the concept
is the future of yesterday. This is going to be a very theatrical
fundraising event and I got the idea that I would love to have the dorkbot
people involved if they are interested.
I want to involve electricity in the event (jacobs ladders and such) and i
think the idea of the remote control blimp flying above the models and using
the remote camera to show them on the big screen would be uber cool.
Let me know if you think anyone from dorkbot would be interested and have
them contact me.
(the fundraiser is for homeless teens in Pierce County-there are 800 to
1,000 of them and no housing and very little resources available to them.)
You can see pictures from last years showcase at:

thanks!
