[jmsl] Hiding a staff

It's a good idea Peter and I'd like to consider ... question: Say you 
have three staves and you make the second one invisible. Would you 
expect the vertical distance to collapse between the top and bottom 
staves now that the staff between them is not visible, or would you 
expect to see the empty space between the top and bottom staves that is 
normally occupied by the staff ?
