I just started using a Mortorola DSP56303EVM, which so far seems pretty
good.  I would definitely get the 56303 instead of the 56002 since it is
much faster, they claim 6 fold improvement if the pipeline doesn't stall.
And with the student discount I paid $120 which I think is the same price
as the 56002 kit.  For me I stayed away from the Analog Devices EZ-LITE
stuff since it was only 16bit.

I've also started experimenting programming the 56001 on my Turtle Beach
Multisound.  So far I've got some basic effects working, but it was
difficult due to lack of support and documentation.
