[music-dsp] MP3 codec using the Motorola DSP56362

I am a undergraduate engineering student from 'Escola Politécnica da
Universidade de São Paulo' in Brazil and I am developing as a final
graduation project a MP3 codec using the Motorola DSP56362 and the
evaluation board EVM56362. I have only the C-compiler g563c which is not
very user-friendly consequently i am facing some problem in using this tool.

 The C-compiler does not implement a single multiplication properly.
Moreover, the MP3 code is complex to be written in pure assembler language
and we are also having problems in mixing C and assembler code.
 
  I want to know if somebody on this list could give me any advice about
developer tools for Motorola DSP56362, or with some other help.
