I can't answer your question for sure but the most likely representation
would be an impulse response which is only loosely a "mathematical
representation" but any other would seem unlikely. I can't see an HRTF
yielding to any kind of analytic mathematical model but you never know.

This is the first I've heard of an HRTF in DX8.  How does one go about
using it (without writing code)?
